Google “Ronald Weinland“, and you are likely to receive a plethora of webpages with titles like “False Prophet!”, “Angry”, “Disgruntled”, or any other such derogatory statements.
When I first heard of Ronald Weinland, I did some cursory research into the man, only to discover that he had a host of unreasonable, sometimes oddly vindictive enemies. Those who had taken the time to build sites around him or his church seemed to possess an unhealthy hatred for the man, and at many times seemed to keep a one-sided dialogue directed at him, filled with bile and venom.
Try to determine the source of this anger and it’s hard to place. They’ll blame his church, his former pastor Herbert W. Armstrong, or simply his “arrogance”. What’s interesting about Weinland is not only his (alleged) prophecies – but also the responses he appears to have engendered among a sizable portion of the population.
It was while combing through Google results that I wondered if there was one person who actually wanted to give this guy a fair shot – and wondered why so many people were eager to tar and feather him with the label of a “false prophet”.
It was more surprising considering Ronald Weinland’s apparent scholarly background – he had written two books, was a calm, mild-mannered man, and was rather soft-spoken. I was reminded of Peter’s verse:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
There is incredibly important information here. These scoffers mock, and say Where is He? – they say all things continue as they were – in other words, “nothing has changed“, “everything’s the same“. Show them a deadly cyclone, and they’ll point to past disasters. Point to a destructive earthquake, and they’ll show you earthquakes that have happened in the past.
God prophesied these people would come. He knew the line of attack they would take. He knew what their arguments would be, and he tells us through Peter. Now am I saying that Weinland is that witness? It’s too early to tell. But one way to determine a witness’ truth is by the response he receives. Is he welcomed and adored? Or cast out and ignored? Is he accepted and exalted by the world? Or is he insulted and humiliated?
“Because ye are not of the world, therefore the world hateth you..”
These are all telltale signs. This is one element in making your decision. Another is watching a potential prophet’s fruits. But let’s continue and see what else Peter says about scoffers:
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
They willingly are ignorant. They choose to be ignorant. Do you know who automatically, reflexively calls Ronald Weinland a false prophet? Atheists. The Bible says they choose, but I don’t even think they have a choice. If they were even to consider whether his words contain validity, they would be rethinking their entire worldview – their entire belief system(or lack of). Considering whether or not Ron Weinland is a prophet or not means considering whether or not God exists. And they do not want to go there.
Let’s read on:
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
I have seen many that say,(and quite obnoxiously) “Where is he? Where are the fruits? Why have the prophecies not been fulfilled yet?” They are impatient. They want instant gratification, and demand answers like children. The Lord answers them quite resoundingly here. God does not care about their standards. God does not care about their schedule. He does things on his own time. In fact, what seems like a long time to them is actually barely a second or a minute to God. Those that want instant answers in the face of prophecy will just have to learn patience and surrender their will to God. He does things on his own time.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
This is probably one of the most astonishing verses in this chapter. How could the Lord possibly come as a thief in the night, when there is so much detailed prophecy in the Bible describing his Coming? How can he surprise anyone, when we have so many signs to watch for? There is only one answer – because even when Gods word in the Bible is being fulfilled, some won’t believe. Every single prophecy in the Bible could be fulfilled and still, some won’t believe.
Now is Ronald Weinland one of the witnesses described in Revelation? It is too soon to tell. But this chapter in Peter teaches us some invaluable lessons in what mindset we should have in approaching prophecy. It teaches us patience in the face of scoffers, mental fortitude and discernment in the face of false prophets. And It also shows us that even when God’s plan happens exactly as foretold, we will still have scoffers that will choose not to believe.
I am glad that you have started this site. I have been following Mr. Weinland for several months now and you are correct in your observations of the available sites out there that are vehemently condemning him. I have and will give the man a fair shot. There are a lot of things happening in this world that ring true. Although I’m not a “firm” believer in him, I have resolved myself to be of the “wait-and-see” temperment. Thanks again for a well-balanced site, I will be checking it often.
Regards.
I’ve had to spend many years doing much travelling and searching (pre-internet google searches!) trying to compile just about the same information and conclusions that Ronald Weinland outlines in his books. It sent a chill down my spine to actually see all I had humbly managed to ascertain, piecemeal, collated and presented all in one place, for perhaps the first time. So at present he definitely has my respect and attention. And to be honest, I hope he is right in what his timeline predicts. It is high time Jesus returned, wouldn’t you agree? As mere mortals, the walls of nefarious strongholds only fall when we all lend a shoulder to the push. Obviously, it is quite a claim to state being one of THE two end-time witnesses, and I hope God forgives me for not placing the weight of both of my feet in Ron’s camp just yet. The fulfilment of Revelation prophecy would be history before I ever managed to write it down and know what to do with it, bearing in mind the dark and cynical spirit of the world we contend with and that surrounds us as believers.
I sense that Mr Weinland and his precious wife Laura will indeed meet death in Jerusalem as they dare brave sticking their necks out and carrying the cross of their convictions, regardless of whether they turn out to be who they say they are. I say, pray for these guys and ask God to guide and protect them. I have no evidence either way to be able to know for sure they are who they say they are. But ultimately, what difference does it make? These things are on the horizon, for sure. It is written. It is God’s word. And God does not lie. So if the forces of good and evil are moving swiftly on the spiritual plain, and Mr Weinland feels this and is compelled to act upon it now, I’d like to be in a position to assist and witness to these things. I just wonder where those who chose to scoff and mock are going to be when these events do finally unfold.
Not without a sense of humour, I “read” his books as PDFs using the Microsoft Windows XP Narrator software, so it was delivered to me a bit like receiving a sermon from Stephen Hawkings, which despite the odd glitch here and there, proved quite effective! Just thought I’d share that in case any of you were getting sore eyes trying to digest it all from a computer screen.
Many write about whether this or that of which Mr. Weinland has said, has or has not come to past. How many have listened? How many have heard?
Great post, Simon. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Whether or not Weinland is THE witness spoken of in Revelation does not disprove the fact that the prophecies WILL be fulfilled – and in my humble opinion, sooner rather than later.

It is funny Simon when I read the first half of your first paragraph I thought I wrote it. It explains what happened to me except the last year and a half that search has been greatly intensified. When I first read RW’s books you could say it was quite a shock since I read it to discredit him. I thought “how could God allow someone who has so many truths claim to be a false witness.” I can to the conclusion that he would not. While, I do not know what goes on in the mind of Ronald Weinland I do know that he is describing what is happening in the mind of me. Next, I am not able to disprove one thing he says. He is saying everything I could expect a True witness to say, i.e. we need humility, to repent, to follow God’s law, etc. If he is not the true prophet of God than I must surely be insane because all my logic and life and my mind agrees with him. If he is wrong than I am wrong and will admit my insanity when he claims he is a false prophet. They may seem like putting all my eggs in one basket but every time I go over it again and again in my mind I keep coming back to the same point.
Thanks for letting me express myself.
sorry I got off track, anyway, The Weinland Witness, thanks for your blog and comments
“If he is not the true prophet of God than I must surely be insane because all my logic and life and my mind agrees with him. If he is wrong than I am wrong and will admit my insanity when he claims he is a false prophet.
I agree one hundred percent with you, truthseaker. I am extremely careful about this type of stuff, and am over cautious for false prophets.
And it’s just like other people have said. There is nothing that I can point to to validate Weinland, however everything he says simply makes sense. It’s really that simple. And so I am willing to take a chance – I’m not going to commit to him, but I’ll give him a chance to be proven right or wrong.
And just like you, I will be the first to admit my folly if I’m convinced he’s a false prophet. But like I keep saying in my posts, it’s too early to tell.
Thanks Citizen X.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to blindly follow or believe RW or anyone else, even the bible warns against this. But like I tell me husband and sister I know this in a way that I really couldn’t explain to anyone. But something very powerful is happened to me. One example is when I started to read “Mysteries of the Ages” two days ago, which HWA explained very perfectly what happened to him, which paralleled what happened to me. It was so eerie, last week I sat down and started to write a letter to my husband and quit after about two hours realizing it would take me forever to try and express to him how I came to the point I am now since up to now I have kept most of this stuff internal. Herbert W Armstrong said three things in just the introduction that I wrote in my letter and that I heard nobody else explain. Slowly, by these type of things I have come to realize that God is working through me. It has become much more evident since I was baptized.
After I finished Ron’s two books I was pretty confident that this was the witness that I was looking for. I was open to at least hear what anyone said who claimed they were a prophet but he was the only one who could prove it (to me). But I was proved differently than most others will be because I was searching out God’s truth before and learned many deceptions that most people will be deceived by. My biggest shock was that I thought I had 3 or 4 more years before the tribulation would start.
I would recommend anyone who has an open heart to keep searching and see if his predictions come to pass. As he said himself he is either right or wrong, a true or false prophet and we will soon find out. I can admire anyone who able to over come their fear to at least question and seek the truth with a humble spirit. I would think if I died in this state it would be better than just denial or with a stubborn attitude.
Simon, Ron himself has read his book aloud (2008-God’s Final Witness) in sermons by chapter since the book was written. In fact, he just finished the 7th chapter a short while ago. It is much slower, because of his elaboration, but well worth listening to! Just go to the pkg website and he has them specially set aside on the audio page.
Citizen X, you said, “There is nothing that I can point to to validate Weinland, however everything he says simply makes sense. It’s really that simple.” As simple as it seems is simply because the Eternal has seen fit to show us. He will only communicate with humble, contrite (toward Him) humans. If you harden your heart toward God, He’ll leave you alone, too.
Stay humble with Him.
I just want to say that I think that anyone is searching for the real honest truth and has humility, therefor is teachable (teachable is another word for meek, as in “the meek shale inherit the earth”) is on the right track.
Coming to know God and his truth is a process it’s not automatic. If I would have read RW’s book a week before I did I wouldn’t have been ready for it yet and might have not recognized it as the truth. I know this because I came across his web-cite 3 times before, than waited in till I received it in the mail 2 weeks later before I actually read it. In those two weeks I learned things that was critical for my development. God’s timing is perfect. When you recognize the truth and are sure about it than act in what you know. I started keeping the Sabbath a couple of weeks before I even read the book. I didn’t know if I was suppose to keep the Saturday Sabbath or the Lunar Sabbath but I tried the best I could because I knew I was to keep the Sabbath. I prayed for God to show me what Sabbath to keep and he answered my prayer after I realized that point and just did the best I could do.
What is the truth? Find it and live it the best you can as much as you know. If you know that you should be keeping the Sabbath but are unsure about RW, than live what you know is truth, keep the Sabbath. If you are not even sure about that than pray, fast, seek, what ever you need for God to show you the truth.
The way I feel about it is if I die trying and I kept a humble heart and ever sought God than at least I lived what I knew to be true in this fake world. You know your own heart and so does God. The problem only comes when someone is shown the truth and knows it but decides not to follow it for what ever reason and the Holy Spirit stops leading you. This is not a good position to be in. It might even be unpardonable meaning they might not be resurrected because they were already judged. I’m not sure but that is how I currently understand.
peace and truth
“What is the truth?”
It is found directly with God, through Christ’s insight to Ron Weinland.
“Find it and live it the best you can as much as you know.”
Yes!
“If you know that you should be keeping the Sabbath but are unsure about RW, than live what you know is truth, keep the Sabbath.”
The mockers all agree on one thing – don’t ever keep the sabbath the way Ron Weinland teaches it. You don’t have to trust Ron – trust God, and you will gain God’s messages through His witness. Trust the Eternal One.
“If you are not even sure about that than pray, fast, seek, what ever you need for God to show you the truth.”
This goes beyond what is needed. (before baptism and before all the studying that will be done, you would not even know how to pray, fast, seek, etc.). Just trust God. Just talk to Him, trust Him, and study His word as provided as needed by Ron Weinland, especially from Friday sundown through Saturday sundown.
Truthseaker, if you are truly humble toward God, you will work at trusting Him – this gets easier and easier as it is done – trusting Yahweh Elohim. You will discover RW is one of the two witnesses and deal with all that has already begun happening for the next 3 1/2 years. You will live on into the millennium and meet Jesus!! (makes me think of my deceased husband’s saying which was so much the negative) It will be awesome to meet our Messiah, personally!!
Such good points you brought up. Thank you Truthseaker.
Thank you Sisterri. I did know that RW is God’s prophet as soon as I finished his second book. I was blown away with the first and pretty sure through out the second and sure when he revealed what the sign of Christ was right. I was looking for him to admit the Jesus’ name was really Yahshua or something but when he said what the sign of Christ was I knew he was right because that is what Christ said he would give. From that point on the truth became alive. So I had proof and now have conformation. The spirit is alive in me. I became baptized asap. I desired to become baptized in this age.
I want to relay to people who are searching the basics that helped me find and maintain the truth.
Desire for real truth/Humility/Crying out to God/Seeking to live the way of the truth(God)/realizing that we can not do anything with out God, etc., etc.
Thank you for your encouragement hopefully our words will help others in the future.
You’re welcome, truthseaker.
I sure am glad you have brought up the name of Christ. I thought that his name should have been Yashua, or Yahushua, or something like that. When I came to Ron, one of the first things he told me was that Hebrew was not heaven’s language. We could also be calling God’s firstborn Iesous, but Greek is not perfect, either. The simple point Ron made is that the church has no problem with the name Jesus. Whatever Jesus’ Mom called him, I really don’t know (yet), so I join with the rest of the church and verbally use Jesus.
Ooh, I know what you mean – “From that point on the truth became alive.” Sometimes I think to myself how much I truly love reading the Bible now.
It used to be a chore, even though I knew it was a “good” book.
Me too!! – “I desired to become baptized in this age.” I drove by myself, 11 hours, to the Feast of Tabernacles, and fortunately, was allowed to be one of the 14 done there. Ooh, just admitted to being at the last organized tabernacles before the Son’s return.
Sometimes I wish I could convince people to join us, but it is impossible. I have not been able to convince either of my daughters to do something as simple as become humble and talk to God. Just yesterday, the one I live with told me she thought I was crazy. I don’t understand her when I’m calmer than I’ve ever been. She just does not want to believe, she says, until the nukes hit. Makes me fear for her.
You didn’t say whether you lived in eastern or western PA. I hope we’ll be meeting at the Pentecost gathering in VA. If I lived further north, I’d go to CT, but VA’s closer.
Just a comment from down under in Australia.
Why do unbelievers get so upset at the mention of God or the bible etc ??
Surely if they dont believe would it not be a non event to them?
Some ridicule but some get very angry.
Regards from down under.
burnout
burnout,
The Unbeliever’s entire worldview is predicated on the lack of belief in God. If God truly did exist, this would require a major overhaul of their personal belief systems and perspectives on life.
This would also mean everything they’ve been believing has been wrong and a lie, and they’ve basically wasted a lot of their lives.
Hence, any mention of God or supporting evidence must be quickly discredited in their mind. They simply have too much to lose by believing in God. This is why we see such a range of emotions from atheists, non-believer, etc..they are very threatened by any evidence in support of God, or the mere mention of God. It is very dangerous to their entire mental sanity.
It’s kind of sad that they have to compartmentalize and lead such sheltered lives for fear of encountering an unpleasant truth, but eventually the truth will be known. It might not be in our preferred timing, but rectification will happen, if not now, then later.
Hello Sisteri
I wonder – please could you explain precisely where RW’s second book is read as an audio-file ?(or 7!). I seem to have missed it on the C.O.G. site.
Hopeful – G
Hi Graeme,
Not sure if I got the right thing here, but if you log onto
http://www.cog-pkg.org/audio/, under the heading “Sermon’s covering publications” you can download all the sermons Mr Weinland did covering the 2008 Gods Final Witness book?
I hope that is what you where asking about?
Take care.
Graeme, I must’ve explained incorrectly. Ron has just finished the book during sermons. It includes a lot of amplification, but if you follow along in the pdf book, it can be done. You have to look on the http://www.cog-pkg.org/audio/ web site for the book, 2008 God’s Final Witness, and you’ll find most of the sermons. Chapter 4 is on the current audio page, 3 sermons, and chapter 7 has a total of 7 sermons finished recently (look on the archives page).
I’ve personally heard of two people who used some audio program to run the books directly from the pdf’s I think. I seem to recall someone posting somewhere on one of these articles that they’d listened from something other than Ron’s sermons.
Well worth the time!!
Plain and simple What Ron says is True. If you are on this website then you are probably looking for answers. Ron has got em and He is a prophet and if you dont believe it now then i promise you that in time you will believe it. Its not my job to try and convince people what he is saying is true. But Like i said earlier its very simple. Ronald WIenland is a prophet and most wont believe therfore wont repent and in other words wont have the oppurtunity to live into the new world that is governed by god and the 144 000 with Jesus Christ ruling as king of kings. At the end of the 1000 years everyone who has ever lived will be resurrected into a new body (healthy and Vibrant)
p.s. Before Darwin Died he was baptised and said he didnt believe in his own theory anymore.
It is very true that prophesies are being fulfilled before our eyes. It is very true that the two witnesses will come in the last days.
However, it could not be that God will deliberately set up his end-time prophet and one of the two witnesses – one of the lampstands for a fall by telling him/her/them false information.
The God of Abraham, as we all know, is the God of truth. He not only does not lie, He cannot lie. It is against His way.
With this said, for anyone to say that God allowed His prophet to have false information in order to test people is also, in fact, calling God a liar. I want all of you who still follow Ron to lay aside all of the prophesies that have not happened in the time he said they would and think about that one point.
Ron is the first one who stated this! He said that God is testing His people by allowing them to believe one date and then teaching them the “new truth” when God Himself says in His word that He tests NO MAN!
God does allow the devil to test us in order to prove, not to God(as He already knows us), but to the fellow man and to the spirit world just how God works with His people and how with God, we are stronger than other humans. This becomes a testament of God’s power and a proof to the spirit world and to mankind of who God’s chosen ones are.
I am not mocking Ron nor will I ever. I am not saying Jesus is not coming as I know He will sometime in the near future. I would be shocked if it is not in my lifetime. I am, however, aiming to prove the man false just as people of the Old Testament made it their personal business to prove out false prophets and teachers. You, as followers of Ron, can thank God that the traditions are not the same. If they were, Ron would have already been stoned in the town square by this point. This is just a simple fact. He will continue to go on but only for as long as God will allow him to. In God’s time, Ron will either be exposed or will die as this is the simple truth of how God works.
If he freaks out and skips out to Switzerland where we never hear from him again, we know he is not who he says he is. Or if he is alive past those “last three and one half days”.
If he dies in any way whatsoever before that time then we also know he is not who he says he is since he is not who he says he is. It is that simple. We only need to wait for God to reveal His truth on this matter.
See (and listen to mp3 files noted) to http://www.cog-pkg.org/faq/topics.aspx#toc
God did not lie, nor did he provide Mr. Weinland with misinformation. If you want to know the truth, you have to humble yourself and repent (think differently) before God. Then, God will open your mind to know the truth.
Truth proves. Ron Weinland, as God’s witness, provides truth to us from God through our Christ, Jesus.
