My goodness, myths are popping up almost as fast as I debunk them. I know there are some people who are working overtime on finding newer and more exotic reasons why Ronald Weinland is a false prophet.
Guys – I want to resolve this as much as you. But don’t jump the gun. Don’t get ahead of yourselves and simply contrive these farfetched explanations to swing the pendulum of decision in one way or another.
Here’s the latest I’ve been hearing a lot:
“False Prophet” Myth #3:
Ronald Weinland is a false prophet because no man knows the day or hour.
So the logic for this “false prophet” myth is derived from a verse in the Bible. Namely, the Book of Mark, Chapter 13, Verse 32:
“But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”
So no doubt you’ve been surfing the Web, reading various articles about Ronald Weinland, and along comes some biblical know-it-all, who knowingly quotes this verse and declares thus “See? Ronald Weinland’s a false prophet!”
But they’re wrong. Examine the verse. It doesn’t say “No man will ever know” – it just says “No man knows it right now“.
They’ve distorted the meaning of the verse, and changed it to a future tense, when in reality what Jesus was saying was that at that specific moment in time, nobody but the Father knew. He was speaking in the present tense.
Plus, what about the 70 weeks spoken of by Daniel? What about the abomination of desolation spoken of in Revelation? Those are both directly connected to a timeline to the end of days. The minute we see the abomination of desolation, we know how long it is until Jesus returns.
According to Daniel, the abomination of desolation marks the mid-point of the Seventieth Week – with 3 1/2 years to go. It says it right there in the Bible. The minute you see the abomination of desolation, know there’s only three and one-half years left till Christ’s return.
Revelation 12:6 -
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.
Revelation 11:3 -
And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Revelation 13:5 -
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months.
Daniel 9:27 -
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Daniel 12:11 -
And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
It honestly couldn’t be more clear. The Bible has laid out a timeline many times as to what events to watch for that will indicate Christ’s return. The verse in Mark simply meant nobody knew at that specific time in history; a lot has changed. If God has chosen to reveal it to somebody, he can certainly do it without invalidating one verse in the Bible.
Someone once asked me to prove scripturally that Jesus was given the dates. At the time, I couldn’t answer, but now think I can:
Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
God gave the revelation to Christ. God sent the angel to John afterwards.
This is a no brainer for anyone who actually takes more than one min. to think about it. I think RW explains this very clearly in his sermons, but we know they don’t really listen.
It’s kind of funny really, by people who quote this scripture it shows they don’t know the Bible they are quoting or don’t have any common sense or they just don’t like to think.
If nobody will ever know the time of the end including Jesus Christ, then their could be no two end-time prophets (witnesses) as mention in several places in the Bible because how would they know when to start preaching. So these people who are trying to disprove RW as one of the Witnesses are really saying that there could never really be any end-time witnesses, therefor the Bible is not telling us the truth (God is a lier) or it is not the word of God.
And if no one even the Son of God would know the hour than how would Jesus know to come in the Last Great Day. So technically according to them God couldn’t reveal it to Jesus in till it was already too late. Think about it, if you have to go somewhere do you plan the trip, how long it will take, etc. I guess God will just tele-a-port Christ into the battle of Armageddon without Jesus even knowing what’s going on in till he arrives, because he couldn’t tell him the hour before. Ya that makes sense.
How is it that everything can just make perfect sense to someone, yet rubbish to another. Just goes to show how lame humans are with out the spirit of God. God, Yahweh is so perfect.
