Good response Angel.Im sure you would agree Mal.But remember the Two Witnesses can only come out of the "Body Of Christ",from the remnant of the original Church that Jesus set up in 31AD. That is to remain uncorrupted against all evils until Christ's return to reign in his glorious Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Charity,

You were talking about not waiting for any event to prove or disprove that Ron is one of the witnesses when you made your comment about an evil generation looking for a sign; that is what prompted my statement. Ron’s prophecies have already failed; this is why Roger was asking Mal what has to happen for him to stop “admiring” him. You know very well that Ron chastised his members for expecting a physical fulfillment of his prophecies last year when in fact that is exactly what he told them to expect, in his books and sermons.

The dates Ron gave are an integral part of his predictions; he has now pushed them back saying everything will still happen, but that simply won’t work because he was very specific that his predictions would take place on those dates, exactly as he said, or he would stop preaching.

Ron’s prophecies are basically an expansion on John’s in Revelation. I believe John’s will absolutely come to pass, but Ron’s have not. What generated so much attention to Ron’s books was his claim that God had given him the timing of these events, which has been proven false. I don’t buy any of his excuses, because I believe God deserves better than to think He would engage a false prophet to teach His truths.

Last year, Ron didn’t think it was evil for anyone to expect to see a physical fulfillment of his predictions; until it didn’t happen. Now when anyone questions him and his new timeline, the comment about an evil generation looking for a sign is made. The Bible says the witnesses will be able to perform signs and wonders, so no one is being unreasonable in expecting to see these signs to prove he is indeed one of these witnesses. There is no lack of faith in God’s word taking place in this expectation, in fact, the Bible demands that we test all things.

I don’t consider this site to be anti-Weinland either; it was specifically pro-Weinland until Citizen X made up his mind about Ron. Now it’s more of an open forum for people to have honest discussions about what they think about all this; something that wasn’t happening before.

I think most of those who are engaging in this conversation have kept it civil and respectful; it’s good for people to hear other points of view, not just those who agree with them.

Angel: I believe that you have taken what I said out of context. I believe that all of the prophecies will come to pass in God's time and that some of them have all ready happened or are happening. It is not evil to wait for and to expect the fulfillment of what God has said will happen. The evil in looking for or, rather, demanding a sign is the lack of faith in God's word that it shows. I'm not saying that Mal is doing this. We must always question our motives and check to see if our heart is right before God.
By the way, I don't consider this site to be an anti- Weinland site even though there are those who oppose him that blog here. The site was never meant to be anti- Weinland. If it were, I would not be here, not because I'm afraid of what I might read but because we are admonished in God's word to think on things that are lovely and pure and excellent and ... I have paraphrased of course :>)

Mal,

You’re right about my math; I was in a hurry and didn’t think it thru. Regardless, this isn’t about Satan blinding anyone so much as it about whether or not one agrees with the 7,000 year plan as taught by COGer’s and company. Anyone could do what you’re doing; claim Satan is blinding anyone who doesn’t agree with their doctrines. That’s too convenient; it’s manipulative and I don’t respond to that.

I understand the concept of this plan, and as I’ve said before, there are aspects of it that I don’t disagree with. But on the whole, no dice. I’d love for Jesus to come back today, but I’m not so desperate to know the date that I’d be willing to believe every fraudulent teaching that comes along. I’ll say it again, the quotes you provided DO NOT prove this plan was being taught by the churches, so you can say it all you want but the evidence against that far outweighs it.

Your answer to Roger about what it will take for you to reject RW’s teachings says a lot - you are in love with his teachings – that’s it – plain and simple. You don’t have any way to discern a false prophet, so if a teaching tickles your ears you’ll fall for it. I’m not trying to be cruel or judgmental, Mal, I just wish you would open your eyes.

Discerning a false prophet is something we are ALL accountable to do, and it’s important to point out what will make people unable to do it. Understand this, if you can’t discern a false prophet, you also can’t discern false teachings.

A false prophet/teacher does not hold the truths of God.

There are several reasons you won’t find a lot of people on these blogs supporting your point of view; for one, who wants to be in the unenviable position of defending RW’s failed prophecies? Second, RW has made it clear he doesn’t want his people reading these blogs; they might read something that would cause them to doubt him.

They’ve pretty much disappeared from all the blogs, and I can’t blame them; although I prefer not to engage in disrespect/ridicule when conversing with someone I don’t agree with, not everyone holds back and the pro-Weinland people could not stand up to sound reasoning. The ones that do pop up now and again fall back on the same kind of mockery they were so outraged by when it was directed at them.

Charity has warned you that Jesus said an evil generation looks for a sign, but she is taking this out of context; expecting a prophecy to come to pass is not evil. Remember the Bible says we are to test all things.

Mal, I am not waiting for any event to prove or disprove that Ron is one of the end time witnesses. I have been fully convinced, for a long time now, that he is, because of the Truth that he teaches and also lives. Without faith it is impossible to please God .... I'm not suggesting that we should "shut off our brains" but if we demand perfect proof before we can believe, where does faith come in? Jesus also said that it is an evil and adulterous generation that looks for a sign. In a sermon a couple of weeks ago, Wayne Matthews said that it was important to prove to ourselves where the Truth was being taught or else we would not be able to endure to the end. There may still be things that shake our faith because of preconceived ideas that we may have. I believe that I have proven this to myself but the bottom line is that I'm trusting in the Rock, my Petra, my Heavenly Father who is the only source of Truth and the only One who can see me safely to the end.

That's a good question Roger, but one that I have no precise answer for. Clearly, it can't go beyond May 27th 2012 because that's RW's unshakeable date for Christ's return. But there are a number of 'trumpets' that have to sound well before that. According to him, each of these will have definite observable physical manifestations (even though the first apparently didn't).

So far, his preaching sounds convincing enough and the numbers which 'God is giving him' continue to make sense and continue to fit with the dates of God's Festivals. If this had not been the case I would have already written him off, since real 'tribulation' events have just not happened. This has understandably resulted in cries of 'false prophet' from most observers. But it may be worth recalling that God said that he would 'shorten those days' or no flesh would be saved (Matt 24:22).

It has been the continual build up of numbers and how they fit that has held my attention. It must be pretty long odds that everything he has now come up with would occur by chance. Pack, Flurry and others have not come up with anything similar to my knowledge.

I would not use the word 'admiration', but I do find RW to be an engaging preacher and I will keep listening and watching how events unfold a little while longer.

Charity, would you be prepared to answer Roger's question ?

Good dialog,Armstrogites.(Time will tell).Mal: Just a question, how much more time will you be needing to continue to observe Mr Weinland? Are you waiting for a event and or date that will convince or reject your admiration for him? Have a good(Saturday)Sabbath.
